What size pillows for a queen size bed?
I know that the traditional thing to do is use queen pillows (30" wide). Pillows were sized as standard (26") and queen (30"). I'm seeing more and more standard/queen (28"), but the pillows I'm looking at are true queen size. A standard pillow case is 31"-32" long, and they've recently started calling it standard/queen. A true queen pillowcase is 35"-36" long. I can't find them anywhere. Apparently they've stopped making them. If I go with queen size pillows, they are going to show through the side of the pillowcase.
Which do you think would look better?
Standard pillows, which are completely covered by the case, but leave empty spots on the sides of the bed,
or
Queen pillows which completely cover the top of the bed, but stick out of the cases?
I'm looking at very expensive down pillows, so I'm not going to be able to change it if it doesn't work.
It is hard to find true Queen size pillow cases sold by themselves. I know they are true queen cases in queen size sheets sets. Personally, I always like Queen size pillows/cases on my queen size bed... that way, they don't fall short as in using standard cases. I just use the std/queen cases sold as a pair...they fit my queen pillows just fine.
