How much do you think the total cost for sewing this following items? (btw, we live in Hawaii)

- Simple straight curtains
- Curtains with valance
- Bedsheet (garterized)
- Pillowsheets
- Pillowcases
- Sofa cover with piping and ruffles
- Throw pillows
- Dining chair (w/ piping) cover
- Bolster's sheets (for long shaped pillow)
- Adult's and kid's dresses
- Adult's and kid's tops/blouses and pajamas
- Adult's and kid's skirts and shorts

For Alterations:
- Jeans hem
- Pants hem
- Zipper replacement

I hope you could give a detailed amount for each items. Thank you for your time.
***the reason why I asked this is because of my mom. She has skills to do those things and she will use that to get some extra money...she doesn't have idea how much to charge her client. Mahalo! ***

I strongly suggest your mom should join the sewbiz email group at quiltropolis -- http://www.quiltropolis.net/maillists/maillistsdetail.asp?catid=Business -- where she'll find lots of other sewing professionals who can help her figure out her charges. Some of the prices she wants can probably be done by checking with local dry cleaners, but the others depend on how much she wants to earn per hour of labor, and how fast she sews. Some people have a flat price per hour, some per item, some per pattern piece, with various amounts added for difficulty of the fabric, difficulty of the pattern, and difficulty of the client.

There are some older pricing guides floating around -- both Claire Shaeffer and Karen Maslowski have one. But I truly think she'll get more from the sewbiz group than just prices... some have shared their contracts, etc.
