I have a Remington Standard No. 12 Typewriter that needs a new "pressure ribbon" (don't know what it's called)
Not the actual ribbon, but in the back of the typewriter there's a spool with what looks like a very sturdy thin shoelace almost that winds around it and comes out and hooks on to the thing that holds the paper. I think this is what keeps constant pressure on it so that it slides while typing (and you don't have to keep your hand on it to push it as you type). Any idea where I can get this replacement part? Or at least what it's actually called?
