My knitting needles are too small for my model. What can I do?
My friend asked me to knit an afghan for him like that I made some years ago for me. I had to buy new needles and accidentally bought U.S. 19 instead of 35 U.S.. I still use the smaller needles for my Afghan? My pattern calls for 58 points cast (approx. finite size. 40 inches wide). Do I need to throw on more points to compensate? Thank you!
Omigosh, although it really depends on the weight of wire and mesh sizes. Have you tried? Is it waterproof? If it is too tight use of these needles in size, Afghanistan is really steep. If the thread is doing, yes, you need more points - You have to make a patch to see how many points were 4 inches. You'll have to knit a test of 4 inches long for it to be accurate. On an Afghan, the number of lines are unlikely importance. Once you see how many stitches is 4 inches, you can multiply by 10 to get the points for nubmer -. 40 inches Also, if model, rather than straight knitting, you will have the exact multiple of points, most centering factor. Example is the pattern that happens every 4 points - The number of points you will be run on a multiple of 4 plus a balance factor if the model uses. Everything can seem complicated - perhaps you should just try to share your needles the right size.
