Wash hands a quilt?
A friend recently gave me a king size quilt that I do not fit into my washing machine (or dry). The quilt is used and no longer corresponds to his bedroom decor, so now he sits in my house. Although it is very clean and well tidy, I prefer washing myself. I do not have time to go to the cleaners or laundry room with her, so is there still wash hand myself? Can I possibly fill the bathtub with water and a mixture of any kind to soak? The quilt is not old, it has Ribbon accents and pearls, and is labeled as silk 58% linen / 28% / 14% cotton cover. Thank you.
With the holidays coming, I no time to run to the cleaners, with my program, I'm too busy. I appreciate the answers. Having never owned a quilt, I thought there would be an easy solution at home.
Wash the jelly rolls (quilt) 1.1 Fill a large sink or tub of cold water. 2.2 Put the detergent in water. You can buy special detergent to wash their hands on the store that work well in cold water. Swish 3.3 water around to get the soap evenly distributed. 4.4 Unroll the jelly rolls and place them in water. 5.5 Agitate the fabric rolled into water, shaking it gently with your hands. 6.6 Soak about 15 to 20 minutes in soapy water. 7.7 Empty the soapy water the sink or tub. 8.8 Rinse the fabric thoroughly under running water, making sure to get all the soap residue on the equipment. 9,9 Squeeze excess water on the fabric and place on a drying rack or a towel to finish drying completely. 10.10 Iron jelly roll before use.
