Great! Been fascinated with such idea since I was a child. Then I read that diamond melts in high temperature. That the sun's surface temperature is more than enough to do that. I guess it's also tick tock a long while back. We have to wait a few billion years before a white dwarf turns into a black dwarf before we can extract the diamond into a form women love here on earth.

But then again I found out that gold can be produced by the merging of two neutron stars, other than a supernova. The abundance of gold in the Solar System is attributed to such event.

So we better go to PSR J0737-3039 so we can extract the gold when they merge. However, what if they merge just to become a black hole?
