HELP! My dog has chewed the skirting board!?

We have skirting that's not wood, it's like pre-made beech coloured stuff, and is glued to the walls so if we take it off the wall will come with it and would need re-plastered how can I fix this before my Dad comes home in a few weeks? Once you have fixed it, you need to stop the dog doing it again. Dogs love to chew, it excercises the jaws, so make sure they have a Dog Bone or Hide chew.. Also the area the dog has chewed needs to be made unattractive when fixed so they do not do this again, Pepper or Mustard usually do the trick.
