i have just watched critters, what do you think of the current horror movies?

ha, retro-ness right there (havent watched critters in a while)
agree to a certain point with you. even though i do think that some current horror's could do with an injection of fun, i think that there are a couple of films that may not directly be classed as horror but do contain both fun element / horror themes, n the one that instantly jumps to mind is SHAUN OF THE DEAD
