Sewing Machines made of Metal instead of plastic? (post 80's)?
Which modern sewing machine are fabricated in sturdy metal ?
I''m replacing my old Singer machine I had since forever, so I simply trust metal body more than plastic ones and prefer to buy a modern one ,possibly new machine. Any suggestions?
I prefer Bernina, Pfaff or Viking !
The gears and such are metal and they all have plastic components. Think "space age". It is not the same as tupperware.
Many things are made from high grade "plastic". If you have a newer car, check the grill and bumpers for a start.
Visit the Bernina, Viking and Pfaff dealers and try out the sewing machines.
New machines have warranties regardless of the brand.
As long as you are not going to use the machine for shot putting, it will hold up as long or longer as your old Singer.
