i would like to have someone tell me about an antique china pitcher i own.?
It has blue and purple violets on it ,it is trimmed in gold. It has the initials J. D. Streicker and it is about 5 to 6 inches tall. It has a stamp on the bottom that says AURONIC CHINA if I,m reading it right. It's been in my husbands family for years.Any help would be appreciated. It also has a symbol that looks like a W inside a fish.
what little I know of china can get you started. 1. find out what the w symbol i. it sounds like it is the manufacturer's mark. a book on markings from england or germany may have that listed. the pattern may be old or new (comparativly speaking, as antique refers to objects at least 100 years old, in most cases) but may be fdound in a book of patterns and when they were used. 2. it may take days or even months to find what you need. there are dealers who can tell you something but be aware that if they see the item, and know its value, they may offer you little or nothing to buy it. know the value before showing it to them.
