What was the East India Tracing CO?

so cutler beckett and the carribean is all fiction? i just wondered if there was any truth in the east india trading company,cause it sounds to real to be made up
It was the company that was occupying India during the colonial era. It was representing the British interests in India. India was colonised by the british. At that time every country that colonised an area usually it had a company that took care of its interests. It acted as the overseas government. For example the DeBeers gold Company in south africa was once a colonial company representing the Dutch interests. The companies usually were under the government and served the government's interests. They used the name company because they were mostly involved in trading. The one in India was mostly involved with cotton farming and spices!
